M
Label Code: LC 4349 / LC 04349 (CBS distributed releases from May 1976) German label founded by the in the summer of 1973. Label manager was Dr. , who at the time was also editor in chief for , a weekly TV-magazine from Burda. m was distributed by until 1976. After that became the new distributor until the label folded in 1982. The label was called simply "m" specifically with a lower case letter. The logo on the cover read "m music records" until 1975, after that it changed briefly to "m records" with the word records on top of the m. Still in 1975 the word "records" got vertically integrated in the letter m. Shortly after the move to CBS in 1976 a new logo was created with "m music", which has the word "music" vertically integrated inside the "m", a dot in the middle of the m and a circle around it. The logo on the label read "m music" until 1975, after that it was mostly just a blank "m" until 1976 when it became "m records" in the same style as on the cover (with "records" vertically integrated). This logo was used also after the transition to CBS until 1978. That year the last variation was introduced, the letter "m" with the word "music" vertically integrated and the dot in the middle but without the circle. The label rim text on the CBS releases reads for the time the "m records" logo was used, "m-records is a trademark of " whereas later releases with "m music" logo read "m-music distributed by " Please don't use or for submissions anymore.
